Brendan Foley is a feature film writer and director, as well as a producer and best-selling author.
His produced work includes multi-award winning action feature Johnny Was (Sony/First Look), thriller The Riddle (Image Entertainment/Mail on Sunday), and chiller Legend of the Bog (Lionsgate) as well as best-selling WWII biography Under the Wire (Transworld/Random House), and a children’s environmental animated TV series Shelldon (NBC).
Prior to working in film and books, Brendan was an award-winning international journalist covering business, the environment and conflict in 55 countries world-wide. He then ran his own print and video communications consultancy which gained Europe’s top award in its field, The PR Week Award, three times for clients including Texaco and Coca-Cola. His scripts have received awards and commendations from Final Draft Awards, Australian International, EU Media and the Archer Prize.
Brendan is an honorary Life Member of the National Union of Journalists, A Fellow of the British Association of Communicators in Business, and a full member of the Writers Guild GB. He is inspired by the work of the Coen Brothers, Preston Sturges and Frank Darabont.
